Hello,

My name is Eleanor.

I am a trainee psychotherapeutic counsellor and Play Therapist for children and young people, ages 4 and over. I am also able to offer TheraPlay Informed Skills to children, ages 4 to 12.   I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and understand how the brain works and influences our behaviour, the importance of nurturing our thinking, and how the complexities of this can affect our emotions, perceptions and outlook on things.

I am a registered member of the British Pscyhological Society (BPS) , National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and  Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and adhere to their ethical frameworks. For more details, please visit their website, here.

I have always known that I would focus my career on working with, supporting and helping children.  I am currently a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a local school (ages 11-18).   Working with neurodiverse children and young people within the SEN department has enabled me to help them find grounding techniques and alternative methods when feeling overwhelmed or anxious.  I strive to help them reach their highest potential and understand how their mental well-being is fundamental to this and their happiness.

Fitness has been a grounding part of my life; I enjoy running, currently training for the London Marathon 2025 for NSPCC and Childline 2 charities close to my heart.

I have been a competitive swimmer for the majority of my teenage years, and I now am a swim coach for the same club, supporting younger swimmers to gain confidence in their abilities.   This enables me to support, facilitate and witness their successes.
